This mural painting is about the uprooting of those who have lost their homeland or any emotional or material security. I wish all these people that they will have the strength to re-root themselves and grow up again in search of light and air to breathe. In such struggles for survival, it is primarily about overcoming obstacles, but these are often completed alone. I would therefore like to let this painting act as a stimulus to think about what really counts in human relationships and whether peaceful, empathetic and helpful togetherness does not mean infinitely more than the search for power and individual success. In a world where the glamour and the perfect appearance, the immediate, the fast living and the superficial are the protagonists, we should take care to cultivate listening, understanding and tolerance. I think this is the only way we can give space to the important things in life so that they can unfold and grow in peace and health.

The mural was realized in February 2023 in Espronceda Institute of Art and Culture Barcelona in context with the exhibition
“Cultural Diplomacy” and several workshops with Ukrainian refugee and Catalan children.
